My personal mantra, “perception is reality” shows through in both the traditional art and photography projects I take on. As a self-taught artist, it’s very important for me to express the world around me in the unique way that I see it, but also, to leave many aspects open to interpretation by the viewer. I believe through our own unique artistic experiences, we all form differing perspectives on life in general, and the opinions we form about art and our surroundings. Those opinions, however varied, are each valid in their own way because they are truth…if even to just one person.
As many people often do, I’ve been through many hardships in my life, and I realize that at my age there are probably many more to come…that’s just the way it is. But the ability to see the light of beauty in the world through darkness is something that I strive for on a daily basis…and I don’t think I am alone in this endeavor.
I became the person I am today, by forming a tireless motivation that ensures my art reaches as many people as possible…and even if it isn’t always admired, it is still seen. It is real. It is me.
