Jimi Beach: Bridging the Talent Industry Gap

Jimi Beach at Art Promo in Austin, TXWould you guess that 75% of all adults regularly make “the arts” a part of their lives? In the U.S. alone, 100 million people pursue “some sort of artistic endeavor” (32 million consider themselves full time artists) but only 10 million currently earn “some money from these endeavors”. This means that 9 out of 10 talented individuals are not being compensated, at any level, for their artistic and creative contributions to society. *Data is provided by a recent Pew Internet poll

In July of last year, we founded TalentDatabase.com as a global grassroots initiative to provide the key ingredient to success as an independent…exposure. By bridging ‘artistic creators’ with ‘eager consumers from around the world’, we’ve essentially created the go-to global yellow pages for talent and creativity. We believe the gap between ‘most independent artists’ and ‘those actually making money from their endeavors’ was broadened by the absence of a single recognized web network, to adequately fulfill the transactional, promotional and information needs of millions of underserved creatives. And the concept is working!

We regularly receive testimony from current users who have financially and professionally benefited by networking through the Database. In fact, several thousands of people from over 100 countries now visit the site each day to discover and promote new talent…and much of this is thanks to YOU. The Database is not owned by a corporate media giant with hidden agendas (see others), it was started by a collection of independent artists who share a passion for breaking open opportunity, in our sudden new world of global connectivity. It’s an organic effort that is now taking root, but requires community support in order to prosper into a worldwide phenomenon.

Membership Drive

The thousands of daily users who network on the Database have been attained solely through organic word of mouth. Each good experience leading to the next newest member. Our decree to the arts is that every talented person in the world should be VISUALLY REPRESENTED and EASILY FOUND on the web for FREE. And now that the Database is firmly seated with top search engines and newsfeeds, the opportunity for personal exposure grows stronger with each new member. You can help contribute to the cause by inviting others to create their free global talent listing.

In our attempt to provide a true service for independent artists striving to make a living with their talents, we ask, what do YOU have to offer a global talent movement? How can YOU help create exposure and opportunity for artists around the world? As our intentions are to stay true to the independent spirit, we are constantly looking for contributors, partners, resources and opportunities to help the community grow.

Are you interested in partnering in the global talent movement? Ideas and inquiries can be sent to databaseartist(at)gmail.com

The Internet is quickly paving the way for artistic revolution, giving new arms for artists to reach art enthusiasts, collectors and appreciators across the globe. I am reminded of the words of musician and activist Jello Biafra when he suggested that we âbecome the mediaâ. Artists of all stripes now have the opportunity to do exactly this with the availability of platforms such as TalentDatabase.com. The art revolution for the Internet age is just beginning, and accessibility is no longer in the hands of an elite few. This is a visionary approach that will create unparalleled exposure for artists and a more eclectic and authentic palette for viewers and lovers of art. This is not just social networking. This is activism for art. I look forward to more!

This is my fourth day on this site and I am beginning to see artists from other sites showing up here. My sense is the online method of networking one\'s skill, search and marketing ability is just getting heated up. I certainly feel this site is moving in a proper direction with it\'s ease of operation, and apparent intention to actually aide the artist in reaching, \"End Users\", as in collector\'s, buyers, gallery owners, and those with disposable income. My hat is off to Talendatabase.com
