LEMUR or the League of Electronic Musical Urban Robots will introduce its exclusive new creator-in-residence program hosted at LEMUR’s space in Brooklyn, New York.
Each month, starting in January 2008, the organization will award three artists a month-long residency enabling them to create works utilizing LEMUR’s resources-robotic musical instruments, MIDI audio/video controllers, video projection, tracking system and more. Each group of residencies will conclude with a public show at the end of each month.
Artists from all walks of life are encouraged to apply, including musicians, composers, dancers, choreographers, video artists, interactive installation artists, performance artists, multi-media and others who would be able to make use of LEMUR’s robotic musical instruments.
LEMUR’s group of artists and technologists will be on hand to provide tech support to residents who are learning and utilizing the resources. Preference is given to artists with some technical skill with computer art.
The deadline for January’s residencies is Monday, December 17th.
But if you miss that you can submit applications to be considered throughout the year. The application and information is available at-
