Do you have a comedic masterpiece just languishing in your desk drawer? Dust it off and get it ready for 2008 Mountain Playhouse International Comedy Playwriting Contest.
The Mountain Playhouse is one of only twelve remaining professional summer stock theaters in the United States today. Housed in a restored 1805 gristmill, the theater produces every genre of theater and features only professional actors and production staff. The prize for the winning play is $3000 and a public reading before the end of 2008, at the Mountain Playhouse. The playhouse will also consider presenting a live stage production of the piece during 2008 or 2009.
Think you’ve got the goods? The rules are simple:
• No re-submissions of plays previously submitted unless revised 70% or more.
• Must be a World Premiere Candidate
• Cannot be produced before 2009
• MUST be able to be performed by EIGHT actors or less
• Must be a comedy
