Article 1 of a series.
It’s great to see all of the opportunities that people from around the world are publishing on TalentSpeaks allowing artists to gain exposure. The world is connected like never before, and electronic networking is opening the doors for independents to make a living with their creativity. And while opportunities seem to be popping up every day, we’re pleased to announce a new web-based concept that is certain to be a most beneficial tool for any self-promoter in arts scene…and it’s getting ready to take center stage in the new arts revolution.
At a recent conference for new web communities, it became quite apparent that there is a significant rising of creatives around the world that use the Internet as the sole means to market themselves. If you’re a dedicated musician, artist, designer…whatever your passion…how do you plan to get noticed? Will you send a demo to one of the few remaining record labels? Will you strap into your best clothes and try to appeal to a snooty art gallery? I think any seasoned artist who has worked these well worn routes will agree that your chances of breaking through the golden gates are about the same as being the next Powerball retiree.
But the good news is, years of artistic oppression has actually led to a change in the way art and entertainment is now being bought and sold. You see…there’s strength in connectivity, and talent is prevailing in spite of the many obstacles to mainstream success. For every artistic style and creative expression, there are buyers around the world interested in PAYING for these works. Consumers 2.0 no longer want to be spoon fed small samplings of what others deem to be marketable, but seek diversity and individuality. It’s happening right now on a small scale, and it’s predicted that we will see this trend surge over the next few years.
While this is great news for independent artists, we’re suddenly faced with the next quandary in the process. How will buyers around the world FIND the artists that produce the creative works they seek? Have you ever tried to find talent on the web?…it’s a nightmare. That was, until now.
We are excited to announce the development of a new web-based program that will create a world recognized Global Talent Database. Picture it similar to a “world wide Yellow Pages for talent and creativity”. This will be an amazing tool for anyone involved in the creative arts and here’s why…
Where do you go, for instance, when you need a plumber to fix a sink? Could you imagine not having a local directory for this? How would you find the plumber? How would you find a few of them, to compare quality, their availability and to secure the best price? We are essentially living in these dark ages now when searching for talent. How do you currently find good graphic artists, logo designers, or performers in your local area…or worldwide for that matter?
TalentDatabase.com is a global effort to organize and consolidate the world of talent into a single directory. I truly believe this could be one of the most simple, yet beneficial promotional tools that has ever been launched in the creative world. We’re excited to announce that TalentSpeaks offers the exclusive opportunity to preview the program in advance of the launch, and to accept the very first artist and industry listings prior to the database going live. This is a FREE listing in the equivalent of the world’s Yellow Pages of Talent and Creativity. Do yourself a favor and take a minute to create your listing early in the program. By signing up early, you will have the opportunity to come up higher in searches, and the ability for your colleagues, friends and family to offer acknowledgements through the website, that will keep you at the top of the global directory.

There will be more information released about this exciting new promotional program as it nears the worldwide launch. We’re excited that TalentDatabase.com is a part of the arts revolution, here on TalentSpeaks.
Click here to create your listing and stay tuned.
If you're an artist, musician, filmmaker, model, photographer, sports competitor, or other talented individual — join thousands of other creatives and create a free listing in the Global Talent Database.

I’m an experienced artist…Have drawn and painted all my life and for 13 years I was the Courtroom-Artist for ABC News in Houston Texas where I covered every trial that was news worthy…some/several shown nationally. I have skills in drawing, illustration, water colors, pastels, computer graphics, acrylics and charcoals. My strengths are portraiture and more realistic style art…but abstract is a pleasure too. Right now I am doing portraits, logos and paintings freelance to pay the bills and feed my need to produce. Many of my pieces are on display at my myspace site for viewing ease. http://www.myspace.com/russellphifer Thanks, Russ Phifer

Emilia…..
I always had the same problem with my music….people would ask, what style is your music, or who do you sound like? I never really had an answer because because I never wanted to sound like anyone else… However, sometimes you find it beneficial to describe your creative works….I usually just think of the LATEST thing that I’ve done and describe that. Knowing that my next work may be something completely different. I think being UNIQUE is a style all of it’s own. In this new Talent Database, you’ll notice that UNIQUE is one of the categories…I think we’ll find some of the more creative people listed under that heading….
Thanks for writing…

This is great. The more resources for artists available and the more connected we are to the information we need the better.

Since 1995, Photography has been an integral part of my life. I have developed a passion for photography while traveling across the United States and overseas
I have been creating portraits and photographing for twelve years. Characteristic of my work is the use of light to produce a painterly effect. With minimal props, I try to achieve an honest portrait by emphasizing the client’s individual expressions and moods. By combining an artistic feel, I am able to capture the emotions of the day, making each photo a unique and personal story.
Wandering Spirit Photography is a Bay Area San Francisco portrait Photographer. I also offer Graduation, Senior photos, children, events & baby photography.
I work with professionals who need a great headshots in San Francisco Bay Area. Realtors, Executives, Writers, Actors, Musicians and Models.

I’m excited for the site to be up and running. I’m an up and coming artist in Houston, TX and I feel this will help very much because around here most of the stuff that sells has to look like a duck or people will not bother understanding it. best wishes to you all!
